Socially Awkward Moments with an Aspiring Lunatic

by Jeff Strand

Some people aspire to become political leaders. Some people aspire to become superstars in the entertainment world. And some people aspire to go completely insane and become psychotic serial killers.

This is the heartfelt and passionate tale of a man with a dream. A man who would stop at nothing to turn into the whacko he knew he could be. A man who refused to give up even when adversity and sanity were at their strongest. A man who will be a hero to aspiring lunatics everywhere.

Become part of his story. You’ll be forever changed.

151 copies of this chapbook were published by Biting Dog Press (125 numbered editions, and then 26 lettered editions with fancy endpapers). They’ve all gone bye-bye. The story itself was part of Gleefully Macabre Tales, but the true completist will not rest until he or she has scoured every square inch of the Internet seeking out the original publication!

Hi Jeff – you kindly sent me a lettered edition of this chapbook.

I also have all your other chapbooks but want to know: are there lettered editions of those too? I have the Andrew Mayhem ‘Lost for a Good Reason’ book too – was this released as a hardback at all?

Hi, Steve! There aren’t lettered editions of TWO TWISTED NUTS or FUNNY STORIES OF SCARY SEX. The Mayhem chapbook was never re-published in print, but it appears in the e-book edition of SUCKERS.

For those lettered completists out there, lettered editions exist of THE SINISTER MR. CORPSE, DISPOSAL, and SOCIALLY AWKWARD MOMENTS WITH AN ASPIRING LUNATIC (though the last one was kind of a “secret” edition). A lettered edition of BENJAMIN’S PARASITE should be out very soon. Lettered editions of PRESSURE and THE HAUNTED FOREST TOUR were announced but haven’t been published yet.
