Of COURSE you know that the World Horror Convention is in Portland, Oregon next week (May 8-11). The complete schedule is right here, but here’s the stuff I’m set to participate in:
12:00 – 1:00 PM. PANEL: “F*cked Up And In Love.” A panel discussion featuring various couples in horror, including my wife Lynne Hansen and also Brian Keene/Mary SanGiovanni, Yvonne Navarro/Weston Ochse, and Cameron Pierce/Kirsten Alene.
6:00 – 9:00 PM. THE MASS SIGNING. Most of the attending authors packed into a single room, signing whatever books you put in front of them! Open to the public.
12:30 – 1:00 PM. READING. What whimsical tale will I read aloud this year…?
2:00 – 3:00 PM. PANEL. “Voices in the Night: Podcasting 101.” I’ll be moderating a panel discussion with Desmond Reddick (Dread Media), Derek Koch (Mail Order Zombie), Maddie Holliday Von Stark (Wicked Library), and Adam Scott Glancy (Unspeakable Oath). The panel description says that podcasts are in the tradition of old time radio, but the panelists represent a wide variety of approaches.
6:30 – 9:30 PM. THE BRAM STOKER AWARDS BANQUET. I’ll be emcee for the sixth time! Am I finally out of ideas? There’s no excuse for missing this in person, but if you’re missing this in person, there’ll be a live webcast of the event. Keep watching this website for details.
ALL DAY: Dread what is literally an all-night flight from Portland to Tampa. Oh, that’s gonna SUCK!
